VIDAK RADONJIC, Founder & CEO of The Beryl Consulting Group, is an investment management executive who thrives in entrepreneurial environment that values teamwork, creativity, independent thought and leadership. Mr. Radonjic has over twenty years of experience in alternative investments and capital markets. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the Firm’s advisory practice. That includes investment due diligence and monitoring, portfolio allocation, and development of new technology. He heads the firm’s investment team that conducts research on managers and companies around the globe.
Mr. Radonjic's alternative investment management career started at Swiss Bank Corporation in 1994 where he was involved in emerging markets fixed income trading and in hedge fund strategies research. Prior to founding Beryl, he worked for major investment banks in their research & trading units and at several fund of funds as a senior hedge fund analyst. Mr. Radonjic held various investment related positions at Swiss Bank Corporation, The International Investment Group, Salomon Smith Barney, WR Capital Management and Infiniti Capital.
Mr. Radonjic has a unique blend of expertise across alternative and traditional asset classes and served as a member of the investment committee team at several multi-strategies firms.  He has developed an in-depth expertise in launching  alternative asset management businesses and has invested in long/short equities, event driven, credit, emerging markets, volatility arbitrage and global macro strategies. He possesses a strong ability to develop sophisticated and compelling investment strategies for family offices and endowments. He has performed due diligence on over thousand managers across the U.S., Europe and Asia  that resulted in over a billion dollar allocations.
He is an expert guest speaker (industry sectors, global markets, geopolitics) on CCTV (中央电视台), Bloomberg TV and i24 News.  His financial press appearances include Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, Pensions & Investments, The New York Times, Business Week, Institutional Investor, Herald Tribune, and Asian Investor. Mr. Radonjic holds dual Masters degrees from Columbia University, School of International & Public Affairs, and Lubin School of Business, Pace University. He is also a founder of www.berylelites.com, a knowledge exchange forum that brings together hundreds of leading investors and major market players.
KAIZHI TANG PhD. Managing Partner. As the Head of Technology, Dr. Tang works closely with Beryl's hedge fund analysts in creating cutting-edge hedge fund analytics and multi-manager platforms. He directed the software development of Beryl Tools integrating statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, optimization and business intelligence reporting. He also directed the hedge fund portal BERYL360 based on Drupal and web service connection to the Java reporting server. As Big Data authority, Dr. Tang evaluates early stage venture capital and private equity opportunities for The Beryl Consulting Group.  
At Alibaba, China, Dr. Tang was one of Alibaba Chief Big Data Scientists where he applied the data mining and artificial intelligence methods accumulated in the United States into the big data of Alibaba and Chinese economic and financial data. He designed and implemented a business intelligence system called CBNData that uses Alibaba’s ecommerce data to generate business reports for Chinese commercial world. The CBNData is a growing revenue generation business nowadays. He also invented and developed a writing robot called writing master which can automatically write thousands of news articles every day to report Chinese economic, finance and ecommerce events. This robot is being used by Chinese Business Network and Alibaba to help the content writers. The robot has been reported by several news agencies and won a national award in the newspaper industry.
Prior to Alibaba, Dr. Tang spent ten years at Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI), in Maryland, At IA, Dr. Tang has grown from a research scientist to a program manager of data mining and informatics. Dr. Tang’s research has been funded by various Federal government agencies with the total amount of more than 6 million across 17 projects. A data mining tool called ABMiner developed by Dr. Tang has been recognized and used by DOD clients and other researchers.
Dr. Tang’s expertise include business intelligence, data mining, natural language processing, machine learning, distributed information systems (blockchains), operations research, artificial intelligence, and optimization. Dr. Tang has creatively applied the technologies in these areas to supply chain and logistics, system engineering, biomechanics data modeling and analysis, scientific literature analysis, nanomaterials environmental impact analysis, open source intelligence data analysis, social media data analysis, e-commerce data, and fintech. Dr. Tang holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Penn State University, double degrees in B.S. of Engineering from Tsinghua University. He has published more than 20 articles in journals and is fluent in English and Mandarin.

DAVID SEGARNICK PhD, Managing Director, heads Beryl Healthcare that conducts due diligence on pharma and biotech holdings in hedge fund and PE/VC portfolios.
Dr. Segarnick has been a medical authority in new drug development and medical-marketing, as well as medical education for more than 25 years. He held senior management and strategic planning positions in industry and academia and his past clients include Pfizer, Novartis, GSK, Amgen, Janssen, Sanofi, Merck, Astellas, Cephalon, Abbvie, Spark Therapeutics. 
Dr. Segarnick has worked on many of the major blockbuster product launches and is the architect of numerous scientific platforms for pharmaceutical and biotech product introductions worldwide. His specific areas of expertise include drugs with novel mechanisms of action with particular attention to cardiometabolic diseases, neuroscience, cancer immunotherapy, gene therapy and targeted therapeutics.
He trained at the New York University School of Medicine and was a member of the faculty at the New York University School of Medicine, Bellevue Hospital, and the New York Veterans Administration Medical Center. He is an adjunct professor of pharmacology at the Rutgers University/New Jersey Medical School in Newark.

MICHIEL KAPPEYNE FRMCAIAManaging Director, joined The Beryl Consulting Group in 2009. He heads Beryl Quantitative Manager Due Diligence and brings over 25 years of experience in investment management and financial research. At Beryl, Mr. Kappeyne has interviewed, assessed, and performed in-depth due diligence on hundreds of hedge fund managers.

Mr. Kappeyne started his career as a Research Analyst at SBC Warburg Dillon Read where he focused on emerging markets debt instruments.  He was the author of widely read macro-economic and political weekly newsletters covering number of countries in Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia. At SBC he worked very closely with Emerging Markets Fixed Income Sales and Trading team where he contributed with trading strategies and ideas. At Citi, Mr. Kappeyne conducted macro-economic research to assess the merits of private equity and direct investment in emerging markets. At Nomura, he deepened his banking expertise by serving in the high level operational management role. This experience enabled him to acquire important insights on operational due diligence and structuring of complex international banking operations. 

Mr. Kappeyne’s holds an MBA in Finance from New York University's Stern Business School, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is a certified Financial Risk Manager and Chartered Alternative Investment Analysts. He is fluent in English and Dutch.

JOSEPH P. AIENA, Managing Partner joined The Beryl Consulting Group in 2004 as a Principal. Among his responsibilities, Mr. Aiena is the Technology Strategist and evaluates early stage venture capital and private equity opportunities for The Beryl Consulting Group. 

Mr. Aiena has over 20 years of experience as a practicing attorney in the technology and intellectual property field.  During this time, he acquired particular due diligence experience in transactions and investments for companies across a variety of sectors including cybersecurity, software, information technology, health care, basic materials, conglomerates, consumer goods, financials, internet services, and technology companies.  Specific investigations included the USD $4 billion acquisition of BioChem Pharma Inc. by Shire Pharmaceuticals Group and representing a potential buyer of a biotech company in a USD $3.4 billion acquisition. He has additional technology experience in the areas of semiconductors, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, as well as providing guidance to technology companies during government investigations.

Mr. Aiena also focuses on the negotiation of licensing agreements for monetization of technology to increase revenue and shareholder value.  His significant experience in multiple technology fields is of particular value in consulting, advising, and structuring intellectual property portfolios for clients. Mr. Aiena received a B.S. in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1991, along with an Economics minor and he received his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, NH in 1996.  He is licensed as an attorney in New York and Massachusetts, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

LISA IAQUEZ, Senior Advisor, is a renowned lodging and hospitality expert having launched a portfolio of luxury and lifestyle hotels on four continents including North America, Europe (U.K., Germany, Spain), Middle East (U.A.E) and Asia (China and the Maldives). She bring to Beryl organization and in particular to Beryl Elites Conferences her branding, business development, due diligence and sales management acumen. Ms. Iaquez advises Beryl team in conducting research and due diligence on hedge funds and private equity that have exposure to Hospitality and Real Estate sectors.

During her 20 year tenure in the hospitality sector, Ms. Iaquez successfuly introduced existing brands into new territories, launched new hotels and helped to generate impressive growth in revenues. Some of the most notable hotels and brands she helped develop include Baccarat Hotel, 1 Hotel, Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces, Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts. These properties are owned and operated by renown multinational companies such as Starwood Capital, The Tata Group, Dubai Holdings. Ms. Iaquez was a part of Bacarrat senior management team when record breaking sales of Baccarat to Sunshine Group occured. Her global network of the top decision makers in the luxury lodging and hospitality industry represents a very valuable asset to Beryl. Ms. Iaquez holds a BS degree in Marketing from the State University of New York.
